A specialist services provider couldn’t keep up with client demands for accountancy – it turned to Advancetrack to boost its offering.
We’re a popular professional services provider to SME businesses. Our experts in the field provide niche support, and this offering expands into other areas as our relationship with a client develops.
We have experienced fast-growing demand for our accountancy services. However, we were well-staffed in other areas of the business but struggled to build the team with the right people to meet the demand for accountancy services. Winning work at a rate of knots is fine, provided you can provide the product or service.
We then looked to accounting outsourcing as a way to help scale the team and build the resource we needed in an efficient and controlled manner that could grow with us.
I have attended many conferences and exhibitions, listening to numerous talks given about the benefits of outsourcing and offshoring. I met Vipul at some of these events and reached out to him and said ‘let’s see if we can make this work’.
Initially we had an internal senior team that could deal with accounts preparation and tax returns, but needed an ‘engine room’ that could produce the reporting packs and files – to do the crunching so we could review and then use that information in our meetings with clients.
We had built an accounts and tax offering quite quickly and had started to push back on taking on new work – that has now stopped. It’s changed quickly, and hopefully there are other areas of our business where Advancetrack will be able to help us in the future.
I now have a partner in Advancetrack; if we continue to scale at the rate that we are and we need additional resource, I know that they are there to support this.
These types of working relationships require a degree of open-mindedness and trust about how things will fit together. Certainly, with something that’s process-led, you need to be flexible about your own way of working.
Both parties map out how they work and then we agree what’s best from there. With Advancetrack, I knew that they have been doing this for many years and understand better than us what can work and what will not.
You have to adjust your thinking. It’s similar to implementing a new IT system - the way you work may have to change to some degree to combine best practice.
